The TE Connectivity RT78726, manufacturer part number 6-1415035-1, is a relay socket for SCHRACK RT industrial power relays, designed for DIN rail mounting. It has a 2-pole, 8-pin configuration with 5 mm pinning and a logical input/output terminal arrangement. The socket snaps onto the DIN rail and uses screw terminals for field wiring.
The terminals use captive M3 screws. For installation, the manufacturer specifies a tightening torque of 0.5 Nm in accordance with IEC 61984, with a maximum of 0.7 Nm, and a wire stripping length of 8 mm. It accepts up to 2 × 2.5 mm² solid or flexible conductors and up to 2 × 1.5 mm² flexible conductors fitted with bootlace ferrules in accordance with DIN 46228/1.
The RT78726 has a 12 A rated current, a 240 V AC rated voltage and a maximum AC switching voltage of 400 V. Reinforced insulation is provided between the coil and contacts in accordance with IEC 60664-1, with a dielectric strength of 5 000 V RMS and coil-to-contact clearance and creepage distances of at least 10 / 10 mm. The socket is rated for overvoltage category III and pollution degree 2.
The specified operating temperature range is −40 to 70 °C. The RT78726 is not suitable for bistable relays with 2 coils. TE Connectivity also states that electrical, insulation and thermal characteristics must be assessed for the specific relay/socket combination, as a different combination may alter the performance of the assembly. Approved combinations should be used and the actual operating conditions of the application should be verified.
