The TE Connectivity RT314012 is a general-purpose electromechanical power relay from the SCHRACK RT1 series, designed for printed circuit board mounting. It uses a monostable 12 V DC coil and provides one 1 Form C changeover contact (SPDT / 1 CO), giving access to both normally open and normally closed switching through a common terminal.
This version is rated for a nominal contact current of 16 A and uses AgNi 90/10 silver-nickel contacts. The rated contact voltage is 250 V AC and the maximum switching voltage specified by the manufacturer is 400 V AC. Permissible switching capacity depends on the load type and operating conditions, so the 16 A rating should not be treated as a universal value for every load.
The relay provides reinforced insulation between the coil and contacts, with an initial dielectric strength of 5000 V RMS and clearance and creepage distances of at least 10 mm. The RT314012 is a through-hole THT version with solder pins and RTII environmental protection, providing flux-proof construction suitable for wave soldering.
The operating temperature range with a DC coil is −40 to 85 °C. Applications stated by the manufacturer for the series include boiler control, timers, garage-door control, point-of-sale automation and interface modules.
