The sensorless brushless motor controller Pololu 5356 is based on the Allegro A89301 BLDC driver chip for handling three-phase brushless DC motors without mechanical sensors. This board pairs the control IC with external MOSFETs to deliver high-performance BLDC motor control in a compact, easy-to-use form factor.
It supports a wide operating voltage range of 5.5 V to 48 V (50 V absolute max) and can continuously deliver up to 11 A phase current without requiring a heat sink or forced airflow. The A89301 provides multiple control interfaces, including analogue voltage, PWM, clock input and I2C, offering flexible options for motor speed and behaviour control.
The I2C interface also allows configuration of current limits and other settings, and dedicated configuration adapters make setup from a PC straightforward. This controller is ideal for robotics, automation, electric propulsion systems and any application requiring smooth, powerful BLDC motor control over a broad voltage range.
