In the telecommunication field, the attenuation of a signal indicates the loss of power that this suffers when filtering through a transmission medium, the attenuator or filter.
An antenna attenuator is a metallic device composed of a input and output for a TV antenna cable. The signal will be seen more or less attenuated thanks to the rotary control of the attenuator, which regulates the input of the signal, preventing its saturation.
The attenuator can be placed between the antenna socket and the receiver, between a distributor and amplifier, between amplifier and receiver, it all depends of each case.
Currently, there are 4G or LTE filters to solve television reception problems.
