This sensor uses the Doppler effect allowing the speed of a moving object to be measured. If a person, animal or object is moving, it will cause a shift in the frequency of the reflected signal, which allows the sensor to detect. This displacement is proportional to the speed of the moving object. Generally, to detect a movement we use a PIR sensor, or even an ultrasound sensor, but if it is necessary to measure the speed of the movement, it is easier to do it with this type of sensor.
The sensor output is in the order of microvolts, so it will be necessary to use some type of amplifier at the output.
