Eight-port unmanaged Gigabit Ethernet switch for extending a wired local network in a home, office or small workgroup. All eight RJ45 ports support 10, 100 and 1000 Mbps, and plug-and-play operation requires no configuration.
Each port uses auto-negotiation to select a compatible link speed and Auto-MDI/MDIX to accept straight-through or crossover cables without manual intervention. In full-duplex mode, it can transmit and receive simultaneously, providing up to 2000 Mbps aggregate per port.
Store-and-forward switching checks frames before forwarding them. Switching capacity is 16 Gbps, packet forwarding rate is 11.9 Mpps, the MAC table holds 4K addresses and packet buffer memory is 1.5 Mbit. IEEE 802.3x flow control helps maintain reliable transfer under congestion.
802.1p/DSCP QoS automatically prioritises latency-sensitive traffic such as voice or video, while IGMP Snooping optimises multicast traffic distribution. As an unmanaged switch, it has no management interface and requires no network configuration.
Green Ethernet technology adjusts power use according to link status and cable length. TP-Link advertises energy savings of up to 82%, although actual reduction depends on the installation, port activity and connected equipment.
The metal enclosure supports desktop or wall mounting. Fanless operation avoids mechanical noise, while indicators show system power and Link/Act status for each RJ45 port.
It is suitable for expanding Gigabit networks and connecting computers, home servers, network printers, games consoles, televisions and other equipment that transfers large files. Actual throughput also depends on the connected devices, cabling and the rest of the network infrastructure.
TP-Link supplies this model in several hardware revisions. The power, consumption, heat-dissipation and Jumbo-frame values in this sheet correspond to the current documentation and V4.4 datasheet; check the version printed on the product label before applying data from another revision.
