Five-port unmanaged Gigabit Ethernet switch for extending a wired local network in a home, office or small workgroup. All five RJ45 ports support 10, 100 and 1000 Mbps, and plug-and-play operation requires no configuration.
Each port uses auto-negotiation to select a compatible link speed and Auto-MDI/MDIX to accept straight-through or crossover cables without manual intervention. In full-duplex mode, it can transmit and receive simultaneously, providing up to 2000 Mbps aggregate per port.
Store-and-forward switching checks frames before forwarding them. Switching capacity is 10 Gbps, packet forwarding rate is 7.4 Mpps, the MAC table holds 2K addresses and packet buffer memory is 1 Mbit. IEEE 802.3x flow control helps maintain reliable transfer under congestion.
IGMP Snooping optimises multicast traffic distribution. Hardware revisions V2 and later provide 802.1p/DSCP QoS to prioritise latency-sensitive traffic such as voice or video automatically. As an unmanaged switch, it has no management interface and requires no network configuration.
Green Ethernet technology adjusts power use according to link status and cable length, reducing the energy used by idle ports or short links. Actual savings depend on the installation and connected equipment.
The metal enclosure supports desktop or wall mounting. Fanless operation avoids mechanical noise, while indicators show system power and Link/Act status for each RJ45 port.
It is suitable for expanding Gigabit networks and connecting equipment that transfers large files in homes, offices, workgroups or content-production environments. Actual throughput also depends on the connected devices, cabling and the rest of the network infrastructure.
TP-Link supplies this model in several hardware revisions. Power-adapter output, maximum consumption, maximum Jumbo frame size, minimum operating temperature and some functions, including loop prevention, vary by revision. Check the version printed on the product label before applying revision-specific values.
