This display is only 1.5" diagonal but has a high density 220dpi, 240x240 pixel display with full angle viewing. It has great resolution and looks great at any angle. We have seen displays of this caliber used in smart watches and small electronics but usually use a MIPI interface. This display is controlled via SPI and has a friendly display driver so it works with any and all microcontrollers or microcomputers!
This lovely little display it's the best way to add a small, colorful, very bright display to any project.Since the display uses 4-wire SPI to communicate and has its own pixel-addressable frame buffer, it can be used with all kinds of microcontrollers! Even a very small one with low memory and few available pins! The 1.54" screen is 240x240 pixels in 16-bit full color and is an IPS screen, so color looks great up to 80 degrees off-axis at any direction. The TFT controller (ST7789) is very similar to the popular ST7735, and the Arduino library supports it well.
The breakout has the TFT display soldered on (it uses a delicate flex connector), as well as a 3.3V dropout regulator ultra-low output, an auto reset circuit, and a 3/5V level shifter so you can use it at 3V or 5V. And also, as there was plenty of space on the board, we have a microSD card connector built into the card.
