A rotary encoder, also called a shaft encoder, is an electro-mechanical device that converts the angular position or motion of a shaft or axle to an analog or digital code.
This encoder or encoder provides the output with 200 pulses per rotation that can be interpreted using a microcontroller to find the position of the input shaft.
This allows you to add feedback to motor control systems.
The encoders of these types are often used in balancing and navigation robots.
The encoder comes with a fixed spindle attachment so it will attach to any 4mm shaft
