The VELLEMAN DEM105 is a temperature and relative humidity data logger designed to take autonomous measurements and retain a history of recorded values. It provides memory for up to 32,700 readings and an LCD display for direct viewing of measurements and logging status.
It measures temperatures from −40 to 70 °C and relative humidity from 0 to 100 % RH. The logging interval can be configured from 1 second to 24 hours, allowing the sampling rate to be adapted to both short-term checks and extended monitoring periods. Current, minimum and maximum values can also be viewed, with temperature displayed in either °C or °F.
The logger is configured from a computer through its USB connection and the corresponding software. Logging can be started immediately or manually, and two storage modes are available: Single, which stops recording when the memory is full, and Cycle, which continues logging by overwriting the oldest data. Stored measurements can be transferred to a computer for graphical display, review and analysis.
Configurable high and low alarm thresholds are provided for both temperature and humidity, together with recording and alarm LED indicators and an alarm output. Using the adapter specified by the manufacturer, this output can be connected to a relay card to activate an alarm or buzzer when the configured limits are exceeded.
Applications: suitable for environmental monitoring and for tracking changes in temperature and humidity over time, particularly where a measurement history needs to be retained, out-of-limit values detected or logged data subsequently analysed on a computer.
For correct use, the unit should be protected from rain, direct moisture, splashing liquids, dust, shocks and extreme temperatures. It must not be immersed in liquids or modified. Setting the date or time deletes the stored data, so measurements that need to be retained should be downloaded beforehand.
The DEM105 is powered by a 3.6 V, 1,200 mAh lithium battery, providing an approximate battery life of 2 years under the conditions specified by the manufacturer. A protective cap, mounting clip, USB cable, software, manual and battery are supplied.
