The Velleman DVM300 is a compact 3½-digit digital multimeter with manual range selection, designed for basic electrical measurements in a pocket-sized format.
It measures DC and AC voltage up to 500 V, DC current up to 200 mA and resistance up to 2 MΩ. It also provides diode testing and audible continuity testing.
For AC voltage measurement it uses an average-responding method calibrated to the RMS value of sine-wave signals and should therefore not be confused with a True RMS multimeter.
The continuity test activates the audible buzzer when resistance is below 50 Ω. The instrument also provides automatic polarity indication and a low-battery indication.
For safe measurement, the specified input limits must be observed and the appropriate function and range selected before connecting the test leads to the circuit. Particular care is required when working with high voltages, and capacitors must be discharged before resistance measurements are made.
