The PeakTech 2705 is a high-precision digital milliohm meter designed for the measurement of low resistances within a range from 1 mΩ to 40 Ω. Its operating principle is based on applying a constant test current to the device under test and accurately measuring the resulting voltage drop, allowing the true resistance value to be calculated in accordance with Ohm’s law.
A key advantage of this professional resistance meter is its support for 4-wire Kelvin test leads, a technique specifically intended for the measurement of very low resistances. Unlike conventional two-wire measurements, the Kelvin method eliminates the influence of test lead resistance and contact resistance, significantly improving measurement accuracy and repeatability.
The Kelvin measurement system electrically separates the current injection leads from the voltage sensing leads. This ensures that the measured voltage corresponds solely to the component under test, excluding losses caused by the connecting leads, which is essential when working with values in the milliohm or micro-ohm range.
Thanks to this technology, the PeakTech 2705 milliohm meter is ideally suited for testing electric motor windings, generators and transformers, as well as for inspecting electrical contacts, connections, solder joints, relays, switches and power connections, where small resistance changes can indicate faults or efficiency losses.
Digital milliohm meters are widely used in industrial installations, electrical maintenance, distribution boards, substations and continuity testing, as well as in sectors such as railway, automotive, aerospace and energy. The instrument is also well suited for technical training and laboratory applications.
The unit features a 4,000-count LCD display, advanced functions such as HOLD, MIN/MAX and REL zero compensation, and a CAT III 1000 V overvoltage category, ensuring safe and reliable operation in professional environments.
