The Chauvin Arnoux CA 1246 is a portable digital thermo-hygrometer with data-logging capability for measuring and monitoring ambient temperature, relative humidity and dew point. Its backlit LCD provides direct measurement readout, while MIN, MAX and HOLD functions support convenient monitoring of environmental conditions.
It measures temperatures from −10 to 60 °C and relative humidity from 3 to 98 % RH. In addition to spot measurements, individual readings can be stored or measurements recorded automatically over extended periods. The internal memory holds more than 1 million measurements, recording temperature, humidity, dew point, date, time and unit information.
Logging can be started and stopped manually from the instrument or scheduled using Data Logger Transfer software. Scheduled sessions allow the start and end time, duration and a sampling interval from 1 second to 1 hour to be configured. High and low alarm thresholds can also be defined for temperature and humidity, with logging capable of being triggered only when an alarm condition occurs.
The CA 1246 provides both USB and Bluetooth 4.2 Low Energy connectivity. Data Logger Transfer for Windows can be used to configure the instrument, view measurements in real time, download recorded sessions, display them as tables or graphs and export data for further analysis. Bluetooth communication also enables use with a compatible smartphone or tablet.

Applications: suitable for measuring and monitoring environmental conditions, tracking temperature and humidity changes, detecting measurements outside configured limits and recording data over extended periods for subsequent analysis. Dew-point calculation also assists in assessing conditions in which condensation may occur.
The instrument can be used indoors and outdoors within its specified operating conditions. IP54 protection applies with the USB connector closed and the protective cap fitted. To obtain representative humidity readings, the sensor should not be held close to the mouth and the displayed value should be allowed to stabilise. The instrument should be used between −10 and 60 °C and 10 to 95 % RH under non-condensing conditions.
Power is supplied by three AA/LR6 batteries, providing approximately 1,000 hours of operation in portable mode with Bluetooth switched off, or up to 3 years in logging mode at a 15-minute measurement interval. It can also be powered through its micro-USB connection. The instrument is supplied with a carrying bag, three AA/LR6 batteries, USB-to-micro-USB cable, quick-start guide and test report.
