SMARTFIL® ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) is one of our most widely used polymers, both for general use and in 3D printing. This filament stands out for its high resistance to temperature and impacts. It is an easy-to-use material, although it requires a heated base to prevent warping.
In addition, this material allows all types of post-processing, from machining to painting, and even allows an acetone vapor bath to smooth, polish, and increase mechanical properties.
ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) is one of the most widely used thermoplastics in 3D printing. Its main characteristics: very tough, hard, and rigid material, with chemical resistance to abrasion. It is soluble in acetone. It is not biodegradable and suffers from exposure to UV rays.
It requires a heated bed between 80°C and 100°C.
As an interesting aside, LEGO pieces are made of ABS.
