Arduino Esplora is an electronic board derived from the Arduino Leonardo.
The Esplora differs from all previous Arduino boards, in that it provides a number of on-board sensors ready to work with them.
It is designed for people who want to start working with Arduino without having to learn about the most basic electronics.
The Esplora has onboard sound, light outputs, and several input sensors, including a joystick, a slider, a temperature sensor, an accelerometer, a microphone, and a light sensor. It also has the potential to expand its capabilities with input and output connectors, and a socket of a color TFT LCD screen.
Like the Arduino Leonardo, the Esplora uses an AVR microcontroller ATMEGA32U4 with 16 MHz crystal oscillator and a micro USB connection capable of acting as a USB client device, such as a mouse or a keyboard.
In the upper left corner of the plate there is a reset button, which can be used to restart the Esplora.
Among the sensors and actuators are:
- Light sensor
- Temperature sensor
- 3-axis accelerometer
- Push buttons
- Sliding potentiometer
- RGB Leds
