Multifunction network cable tester and tracer for installation, identification and maintenance work. The kit combines a transmitter with a display and a tracing receiver with adjustable sensitivity, allowing RJ45 links to be tested and a specific cable to be located within bundles, conduits, patch panels and communications cabinets.
The tester provides wire mapping, continuity checking and detection of sequence faults, open circuits, short circuits and crossed or incorrect connections. It also includes a single-ended eight-core RJ45 crimping test for checking the electrical contact between connector pins and cable conductors.
Cable tracing is available in normal and anti-interference modes. Receiver sensitivity can be reduced progressively to isolate the target cable, and the receiver includes an audible indication, 3.5 mm headphone socket and work light. The supplied RJ45-to-RJ11 adaptor also supports telephone-line tracing. Conductors must be de-energised when tracing with the alligator-clip lead.
Port flashing helps identify the corresponding switch or router port at the far end of the cable. The unit checks 10, 100 and 1000 Mbit/s links, identifies full- and half-duplex operation, and recognises automatic or non-automatic link negotiation.
Cable length is calculated from signal propagation time and can be displayed in metres, centimetres or inches. The far end must remain disconnected during the test. Manufacturer-stated accuracy is ±1.6 m up to 20 m, ±2.4 m from 20 to 100 m and ±3.2 m from 100 m upwards.
The PoE test identifies standard and non-standard power, End-Span, Mid-Span or eight-conductor powering, power-supply mode and power level. The receiver also provides NCV proximity detection to warn of energised wiring or outlets; this is an indication function and does not display a numerical voltage value.
The transmitter uses a 2.4-inch colour TFT display with adjustable brightness. Menu settings include brightness, volume, automatic power-off, Chinese or English language selection and factory reset. Both transmitter and receiver have rechargeable batteries and USB-C charging; the manual specifies 3000 mAh for the transmitter and 1500 mAh for the receiver.
This LPM-10A version does not include PING testing, IP address scanning, an optical power meter or a red-light source; those functions belong to other variants in the series. It is suitable for network installers, maintenance technicians, data centres, offices and Ethernet or telephone cabling identification and fault-finding.
