The Bambu Lab A1 features a design Open and modern, with a rigid gantry frame made of steel and extruded aluminum.
The movement system uses high-quality metal rails and bearings on all axes, giving it great mechanical stability and durability.
Unlike other Bambu Lab models that have a closed cabinet, the A1 has an open i3-type structure, which facilitates visualization of the process and heat dissipation; however, this configuration exposes the print to ambient temperature, so it does not incorporate closed panels or a heated cover (limiting efficiency with materials like ABS).
In terms of size, it is a full-size printer.
Relatively compact within its category: its physical dimensions are approximately 465 x 410 x 430 mm (width x depth x height), with a net weight of around 8.3 kg.
This allows it to be easily placed on a desk or workbench. The machine's base integrates the electronics and the printing surface, featuring a robust finish; the control panel with an angled touchscreen for easy access is located at the front.
The print head moves along the X-axis via a horizontal bridge guided by rails, and the Y-axis is driven by the moving bed. This Cartesian configuration, combined with the rigid components and integrated sensors, allows it to achieve the aforementioned high speeds without losing precision.
