The Pro'sKit MT-7530E is a 30 mW fibre optic visual fault locator (VFL) designed for the installation, testing and maintenance of optical fibre links. Its visible laser source operates at a wavelength of 650 ± 10 nm and provides a 30 mW output, enabling technicians to identify breaks, discontinuities, poor connections and other physical faults affecting an optical fibre.
This portable fibre tester is particularly useful for telecommunications engineers, fibre installers, network maintenance technicians and other professionals carrying out on-site optical cabling work. By injecting visible red laser light into the fibre, significant discontinuities and certain connection faults can be visually identified at the affected point, providing a straightforward method of tracing physical problems within an installation.
The 30 mW optical output provides a stated test distance of more than 20 km of optical fibre. This makes the MT-7530E suitable for longer links than lower-powered visual fault locators and particularly useful for professional telecommunications, fibre network installation and maintenance applications where extended cable runs may need to be checked.
The laser operates at 650 nm ± 10 nm, producing visible red light, and is classified as a Class IIIB laser. Appropriate laser safety precautions must therefore be observed. Users must never look directly into the optical output or into the end of a connected fibre whilst the locator is switched on.
A 2.5 mm universal connector provides direct compatibility with FC, SC and ST fibre connectors, widely used in professional optical installations. Equipment fitted with 1.25 mm LC connectors can be tested by using the optional 5MT-7601-LC adaptor, which is not supplied as standard.
The MT-7530E supports both continuous and flashing laser operation. Continuous output is useful when maintaining a visible optical signal during testing, whilst the flashing mode makes the signal easier to distinguish and can assist technicians when identifying particular breaks or connection points during fault tracing.
Its aluminium alloy body provides a lightweight yet robust construction suitable for field work. Protection for the laser head helps protect the optical connection whilst the tester is not in use. With an overall length of approximately 160 mm, the instrument is compact enough to carry alongside other fibre installation and test equipment.
Power is supplied by 2 × 1.5 V AA batteries, which are not included. Using standard AA batteries allows the tester to be operated in the field without an external power source. The specified operating temperature range is -10 to 55 °C, with a storage temperature range of -10 to 70 °C.
The Pro'sKit MT-7530E 30 mW visual fault locator is therefore intended as a practical tool for continuity checking and visual fault tracing in fibre optic cabling, supporting FC, SC and ST connections directly and 1.25 mm LC connections when used with the appropriate optional adaptor.
