The COMPTYCO AUA-G710B is a multifunction instrument for fibre-optic work combining an optical power meter (OPM), visual fault locator (VFL) and auxiliary LED light.
The optical power meter uses an InGaAs detector and provides a measurement range of −70 to +10 dBm. It supports wavelengths of 850, 980, 1270, 1300, 1310, 1490, 1550, 1577, 1625 and 1650 nm, covering different windows used in fibre-optic networks and systems.
The visual fault locator (VFL) uses visible light at 650 nm. The HR65202 variant incorporates a VFL with an optical output power of 30 mW, intended to assist in visually locating discontinuities and other accessible loss points by injecting visible light into the fibre.
The instrument also incorporates an auxiliary LED light, a user calibration function and automatic power-off. It is powered by two AA batteries and has a stated operating time of at least 40 hours.
It supports SC, FC and ST optical connections using the corresponding adapters.
For safe operation, do not look directly into the optical output or the end of a connected fibre while the VFL is active.
