NYCY 0.6/1 kV shielded power and control cable with three 1.5 mm² insulated conductors and a 1.5 mm² concentric copper conductor. It is primarily intended for industrial environments where a degree of electromagnetic protection is required.
Construction comprises bare-copper conductors, PVC insulation, PVC bedding, a concentric conductor made from copper wires with counter-helical copper tape, and a black UV-resistant PVC outer sheath.
For three-conductor configurations, the manufacturer particularly recommends it for connecting variable-frequency drives. It is also suitable for indoor and outdoor installation, dry or humid locations, installation in air, or direct burial with suitable sand backfilling.
The concentric conductor acts as a screen and, where permitted by the regulations applicable to the installation, may also be used as a neutral or protective/earth conductor. This reference is a 3X configuration with brown, black and grey insulated conductors; it is not a 3G construction with an insulated green/yellow conductor.
Operating voltage is 600/1000 V and test voltage is 4000 V. For manufacturer code 28580700, Cervi specifies an approximate outer diameter of 13.2 mm, cable weight of 220 kg/km and conductor resistance of 12.1 Ω/km at 20 °C.
Stated maximum current is 19 A in air at 30 °C and 27 A underground at 20 °C. These figures depend on the installation conditions defined by the manufacturer and should not be treated as universal limits for every installation.
The cable is built to VDE 0276-603, has CPR class Eca according to UNE-EN 50575 and is flame-retardant according to VDE 0482-332-1-2 / IEC 60332-1-2. This Electrónica Embajadores reference is sold as a 50 m roll.
